Yesterday marked the 100 year anniversary of the sinking of Titanic. It was called the unsinkable ship, but sadly an iceberg ended that claim in 1912.

The iceberg, as seen below, broke apart the ship in one swift swoop.
The last time something this big and white caused as much damage it was named The Charlie Daniels Band
The world would feel reverberations from that night forthe next century. It would be the last great maritime iceberg disaster until 2006 when an iceberg broke apart Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt's marriage.

Brad Pitt would later adopt said iceberg

The captain of Titanic that night, was Edward John Smith.

Captain Smith would not let the somber events of that day haunt him for the rest of his days; after a partial shave and some new glasses, he would go on to found the successful Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants.
One of the eleven herbs and spices is chunks of icebergs
To mark the 100 year anniversary many parties were held over the last couple of days like the one below:
Nothing says "We will remember the 1,500 victims of Titanic" like drinking while wearing dresses that is not from the era
What gets easily lost in all these parties, news retrospectives, and Celine Dion song filled films is the fact that 1,500 lives were lost. To that end, the United States Coast Guard stopped their normal routine of rescuing people and dumped 1.5 million rose petals into the sea.
A site to remember
I am sure if any survivors of the Titanic were around today they would appreciate the globs of petals where their grandparents had died.

Many years have passed but I have often wondered what would have happened if the Titanic had never hit an iceberg, what would it look like today. I have compiled my own rendering of just what Titanic would look like in 2012:

Happy Valentine's Day

Good bye Whitney Houston I will never forget when we played the Super Bowl: you had your voice and I had my tambourine.

President Lincoln emancipated the slaves while Pancakeraham Lincoln emancipated the empty feeling in my stomach.

Happy 11-11-11!

Happy Veteran's Day

It is Veteran's Day once again. I will celebrate it like I do every year... Reenacting Iwo Jima.

One of the guys running for city council today was endorsed by the cornhole association. I can only imagine the conversation that will take place a year from now... "Sure councilman Mark ran the city into bankruptcy but have you seen him toss a bag of kennels into the hole... it's pure poetry!"

My first attempt at a stereographic projection photo
